These are unusual times where emergency laws have been brought into place to aid the well being of humanity – but not the well being of businesses
If we can change the democracy of the yo parliament to make it safe for the public, why can’t we bend the rules to make sure people’s livelihoods are protected and the national is finally allowed to enjoy themselves
Seems we are happy to bend for one side and not the other
It’s not as if it’s a business that harms anybody – they’re there for the greater good of people & our well being / mental health
Tower Hamlets support, or lack of… is utterly breathtaking but sadly not surprising!
Sorry that you and other businesses in the area have been let down so badly.
You guys are such an asset to Columbia Road and I sincerely hope the council sort this for you soon! You and the other hospitality businesses in the area make the street what it is
I think it is completely irresponsible of the council to treat businesses in this manner, that because of their incompetency in dealing with decisions needed in a timely manner that businesses and people’s livelihood are put at risk in this way!
Come on Tower Hamlets, address this matter now!
Will be glad to sign a petition!
I’m really sorry to hear about the predicament you’re in. I don’t know if you’re receiving any legal advice, but I’ve have used Jack from Thomas and Thomas for all our licensing and have found him to be very helpful. He’s dealt with cases like yours plenty of times, however I can’t say how the delays the councils are facing because of the pandemic might affect the timings of everything. His contact is […] and […].
I support your application and hope that you will succeed in obtaining this licence. I do feel for you in the current climate. Its all a bit crazy. Wishing you every success. Is there a petition you could start? Let us know.
You may have already done this. But have you tried contacting the Chief Executive, Leader of the Council and Local MPs? They may be able to put some pressure on the licensing team. Good luck.
This is ridiculous when you have a premises right next door selling alcohol outside. It’s such a lovely atmosphere. It’s such a shame that a business which is at the heart of the community can be brought to its knees by one or two objectionable people. Good luck and hope you get your license. Look forward to coming for a drink to celebrate 🤞

Sometimes I really wish my business were just the other side of the Hackney Road. Tower Hamlets are making it so hard for business owners…
